María Del Mar Echeverría
María Del Mar, a proud Costa Rican, was fueled by her passions for nature, adventure, design, and wellness. In 2011, she founded MARE to bring the pinnacle of design and quality materials to Costa Rica. She passed away on 2024, but her legacy continues to shine through the business with the support of the family and her sister Kristal.
With a belief that the best is yet to come, María Del Mar remained steadfast in her values, and trusted her intuition and working diligently toward her vision. She had a BA in Advertising, an MBA in Finance, Economics & Sustainable Development from INCAE Business School, and actively contributed as a member of the Board of Directors of ProParques.
Kristal Echeverría
Kristal’s love for people has made her a key element at MARE Design Center. Having lived abroad for over 10 years, gave Kristal a different perspective on people and how to deal with different cultures.
A journalist by profession, she loves communicating and makes our clients feel at home.
She enjoys nature, walking with her dog Martina, traveling and has a good taste for fine arts and culinary arts.

Mariana Aguilar
Mariana is your go-to person for all interior design needs. She understands what the clients require and ensures that their needs are met believing that functionality and aesthetics should be integrated.
With a Masters Degree in Interior Design from the Florence Institute of Design in Italy, Mariana has a great eye for detail and enjoys being able to create and customize ideas brought to life. She offers a unique perspective that merges the Italian sophistication with the essence of Costa-rican culture.
Her sweet and outgoing personality makes it easy for the clients to create a bond with her. She will make sure to accompany each client in every step of the way until the completion of the project.
When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, going to Pilates and baking.
